Details

As an environmental science and technology organization, GreenHub assesses and considers all aspects related to waste issues, including analyzing the Gender factor. Plastic waste collection and recycling activities have the active participation of informal waste collectors (often called scrap collectors, scrap collectors, etc.), in which women are the core force, accounting for more than 90% of the members of this group. However, their role has not been clarified and recognized in the community and by stakeholders. Therefore, GreenHub has proposed the project "Empowering women in the plastic waste recycling chain" (hereinafter referred to as the Women Reducing Plastic Waste project) sponsored by The Incubation Network and coordinated by Second Muse. The project is expected to help clarify the role and contribution of women in solid waste management in general and plastic waste in particular. They will also be equipped with the capacity and awareness to protect occupational health and safety in specific working conditions. This will contribute to increasing the amount of waste collected and recycled and contribute to the development of the current collection and recycling chain.
