On the afternoon of February 28, 2025, at the People's Committee of Hoang Lam Ward, Thuy Nguyen City, Hai Phong, the Center for Supporting Green Development (GreenHub), together with the People's Committee of Hoang Lam Ward and Damen Song Cam Shipyard Co., Ltd. organized the event "Hoang Lam Ward - Advancing the green journey" to summarize and share the results achieved by the project "Piloting the Circular Economy model in Waste Management in Lam Dong Commune" (now Hoang Lam Ward, Thuy Nguyen City, Hai Phong)".

🎉 Within the framework of the ceremony, GreenHub, its partners and more than 220 attendees had the opportunity to look back at the achievements after more than a year of implementing the project "Piloting the Circular Economy model in Waste Management in Lam Dong Commune". In particular, GreenHub has successfully recorded that the project has contributed to reducing about 580 kg of waste per day through waste classification at source by collecting recyclable waste and treating organic waste. In addition, thanks to the active communication campaign and guidance of the "For a Zero Waste Lam Dong" Club with 35 members, run by the Women's Union of Lam Dong commune, many local people have been improved in knowledge as well as more proactive in implementing waste classification and treatment at source. Specifically, according to statistics, 91% of households have a better understanding of the Law on Environmental Protection, while 84% are willing to classify waste at source, a significant increase compared to 29% before the project.

💬As the sponsor and co-implementer of the Project, Mr. Joris van Tienen, General Director of Damen Song Cam Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., highly appreciated the achievements of the project, and at the same time, he also expressed his wish that the parties would continue to cooperate sustainably to replicate the project in Hoang Lam ward in the future.

🌱On the sidelines of the project summary, GreenHub also continued to promote the message of action for a green - clean - beautiful environment by attracting delegates and people to participate in a series of practical activities with 4 experiential stations:

📍Station 1: Exchange recyclable waste for the future - Encourage people to bring recyclable waste to exchange for green gifts.

📍Station 2: Initiatives for a sustainable Hoang Lam - Exhibition of green ideas and creating opportunities to contribute to the environment.

📍Station 3: Knowledge Garden - Educational space providing knowledge about waste management and sustainable consumption.

📍Station 4: Recycling Workshop - Recycling workshop supports children and families turn discarded materials into useful items.
