New step in reducing plastic waste in schools in Da Nang

On the morning of June 6, the People’s Committee of Cam Le District (Da Nang City), in collaboration with the Centre for Supporting Green Development (GreenHub) and the Center for Adaptive Capacity Building (CAB), launched the model of Green School Saying No To Plastic Waste and launch the Initiative To Reduce Plastic, promoting the implementation of waste classification at schools.

At the event, the signing ceremony took place between 3 primary schools Ton Duc Thang – Tran Van Du – Tran Dai Nghia, Cam Le district, and CAB to jointly deploy and implement the model of Green School Saying No To Plastic Waste. This is a big step in the initial implementation of a viable model for reducing plastic waste in schools, and towards spreading the model in the future.

The Education and Training Department of Cam Le district launched the Initiative To Reduce Plastic at 11 primary schools in the area. Measures for waste classification and plastic reduction have been contributed significantly by leaders at all levels, schools, and students. Those ideas will be recognized by the program’s experts and thus build a reasonable initiative, which is expected to gradually change the behavior of students, thereby contributing to environmental protection in the area.
