GreenHub participates in the 2022 EASICO Capacity Building Workshop

After 2 years of Covid-19 epidemic, international workshops have gradually restarted. And in the past few days, GreenHub has been honored to become a delegate of the EASICO 2022 Capacity Building Workshop in Indonesia, organized by the Indonesian Waste Platform (IWP) in partnership with PEMSEA (Partnerships in Environmental Management for the Seas of East Asia) and OSEAN (Our Sea of East Asia Network). Taking place from June 13 to 16, the goal of the workshop is to build capacity in marine litter management and reduce marine litter in East Asia, contributing to the achievement of a “Plastic-free ocean by 2030”.

The Workshop discussed on:

  • The importance of marine litter data.
  • Waste and marine litter management in island fishing communities.
  • Waste Policy and Planning.
  • Management of plastic fishing gear and alternatives to reduce single-use plastics in fisheries.

The workshop intertwined theories with practice and experience. Within the framework of 4-day-workshop, delegates at EASICO 2022 participated in collecting trash, collecting data and visiting fishing villages here.

This is also an opportunity for GreenHub to share about our projects and learn more from international partners after two years of the pandemic.
