Initiated by the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Goethe-Institut since 2020, International Relief Funds (IRF) were created to deal with the impact of the pandemic on socio-cultural organisations abroads. Seeing the negative effects of Covid-19 pandemic on our partners, GreenHub applied and successfully brought this opportunity to a group of women collecting waste in Tu Son and Ngu Phuc communes, Hai Phong city.
The project supports GreenHub to carry out recovery activities after the COVID-19 pandemic for women of waste collectors in two communes of Hai Phong. The idea of the project is to pilot increase access and creative work for poor women who collect informal waste (crickets/junk) in the context of COVID-19.
The project aims to develop and apply an online application platform and communication tool to support the activities of women labor groups during the pandemic. The project will pilot training and skills development, contributing to increase income for waste collectors in Tu Son and Ngu Phuc communes, Hai Phong city.
The project “No Informal Waste Collectors left behind – Support recovery of Vulnerable Women from COVID-19 pandemic” is funded by the International Relief Fund for Organisations in Culture and Education 2021 of the German Federal Foreign Office, the Goethe-Institut and other partners at: www.goethe.de/relieffund
