As a part of the “Plastic Action Network” (PAN) project funded by the global Coca-Cola Foundation, this morning (August 28th) in Ha Long, the launching event “RESPONDING MOVEMENT TO FIGHT PLASTIC WASTE” took place and attracted nearly 500 participations who are members of the Women’s Union, households trading in the market and representatives of local mass organizations.
At the event, GreenHub was sharing a post with the content “Why should we reduce plastic waste?” as well as summarizing the achieved results within the first year in a project with 5 Women’s Unions in Ha Long. At the same time, launch the next activities in the second year such as strengthening collection – recycling – reuse, promoting the practice of 3Rs, etc.
The event has collected more than 500 PLASTIC BOTTLES and donated nearly 300 BANNER RECYCLING BAGS, which aim to share the message “Ha Long women increase the waste collection – promote waste recycling for a Green Ha Long” and “Garbage is not waste but a resource”.
All collected plastic bottle was donated to Fun Club of the Ha Lam Women’s Unions which belongs to Ha Long City. They would be turned into ecological bricks and flower sinks. “Fun Club has built 4 flower sinks – and these residual plastic bottles would be turned into ecological bricks by club members in the evenings and continuously construct chairs or flower sinks” – Ms Ngát – Club’s President shared.
