Total Funding: Over 8.2 billion VND, contributed by eight international organizations and development partners.
Direct Beneficiaries: More than 36,000 people, including:
Over 22,000 students and 1,200 teachers and staff in participating schools;
More than 100 women working in informal waste management, supported through livelihood assistance and training programs;
Over 13,000 residents and tourists engaged with community-based Zero Waste models.
Significant Waste Reduction:
Nearly 200 tons of waste diverted from landfills each school year;
Reduction of more than 10,000 plastic bags per month in local markets;
Decrease of 167 kg of plastic waste per month in hotels, offices, and homestays.
Establishment and Expansion of Effective Models:
Zero Waste Schools;
Zero Waste Markets, Hotels, Restaurants, Homestays, and Offices;
Centralized Organic Composting Model.
Policy Impact:
Contributed to the development of four provincial plans and policies, including:
Reduction of single-use plastics by 2030;
Source separation of solid waste;
Provincial action plan for a “Green – Clean – Beautiful” Phu Yen;
Integration of gender equality in waste management.
Promoting Gender Equality and Sustainable Livelihoods:
Through training sessions, insurance support, financial assistance, and partner linkages for women working in the informal sector.
