Workshop to share survey and waste audit results in Can Tho

On July 28, in Can Tho city, GreenHub cooperated with Research Center for Resources and Rural Development (Recerd) to organize a workshop to share the survey and waste audit results of the “Zero Waste to Mekong River: Pilot Circular Economy model for Floating markets in Can Tho” project.

The event welcomed the participation of delegates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Department of Construction, Urban Joint Stock Company, College of Environment and Natural Resources Management, Can Tho University, People’s Committees of Cai Rang and Binh Thuy districts, representatives of the Women’s Union, local authorities in the project area and representatives from GreenHub have:

  • Reflected the current situation of waste survey in Son dunes and Cai Rang Floating Market.
  • Given a frank view of the difficulties and outstanding problems, and at the same time identified the causes to provide a timely and sustainable solution to the problem of waste treatment in the river.
  • Proposed solutions to stick to the model of community-based tourism development combined with environmental protection.

The members of the project still keep the flame of enthusiasm and determination to find ways to solve the problem of waste at Cai Rang and Con Son floating markets. We are getting ready for the next activities to be carried out at the end of this August.
