In this survey, the GreenHub staff interviewed 35 scrap plastic purchasing facilities in Can Tho, including 05 districts: Binh Thuy, O Mon, Thot Not, Ninh Kieu, Cai Rang.

After the interviews, we realized the following interesting facts:

Regarding the operating time:

The average business time of scrap collection facilities is from 0-2 years.

There are very few facilities that have been operating for more than 5 years.

Regarding the number of employees:

The average number of workers in each collection facility is from 2-4 people and all are members of the same household.

Scrap purchasing facilities in Can Tho are mainly households.

Regarding the number of working hours:

Workers in the informal scrap purchasing system are having to work in a state of overload with continuous frequency to make a living.

Scrap collection facilities usually have to operate on average OVER 10 HOURS/DAY to ensure the volume of scrap to be collected.
