On October 3, 2022, the Hoi An Women's Union held the Summary and Recognition Program for the 2022 Green House Model Operation. The event welcomed several distinguished guests, including Mr. Phan Lon (Deputy Head of Hoi An City Mass Mobilization Committee), Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son (Deputy Head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment), Venerable Su Lien (representative of the Hoi An Buddhist Sangha), S.E.A Club representatives, and Women's Union members from 54 branches.
During the event, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Tho presented a report on the implementation of the Green House Model in 2022. Over the past year, Women's Union members actively raised awareness about plastic and its impact on health, promoted plastic reduction, and collected low-value plastic waste for recycling. An impressive 975.5 kg of low-value plastic was gathered and sent to recycling facilities—an achievement reflecting the dedicated efforts of the women involved.
Throughout the program, Ms. Ngo Thi Tuyet Nhung, representing the Hoi An Women's Union, commended and encouraged the members for their contributions. Additionally, city leaders and GreenHub representatives engaged in discussions with Women's Union members and volunteers from S.E.A Club, addressing challenges and gathering suggestions for improving the initiative.
Ms. Le Thi Thao Vy, a representative of GreenHub in Hoi An, provided an assessment of the model's impact and represented the Project Management Board in awarding Certificates of Recognition to outstanding individuals and groups who played an active role in the Green House Model’s success.
This initiative is part of the "Reducing Plastic Waste Pollution with Local Solutions" (LSPP) project, funded by USAID under the "Vietnam Local Activities for Environmental Health" program. The project is implemented by GreenHub in collaboration with ISPONRE, HUPH-VOHUN, and GIMASYS.
