The widespread use of plastic has led to negative consequences for both the environment and human health. But is plastic truly the "problem student" in the Classifight classroom?
In reality, plastic can be a model student that benefits the environment in many ways. When comparing recycled plastic to paper, which is often seen as the ideal eco-friendly option, recycled plastic actually proves to be more durable and requires fewer resources to produce and transport.
The problem isn’t plastic itself—it’s how we use and dispose of it. The lack of proper sorting, recycling, and disposal has turned plastic into a major environmental issue. When plastic waste is mismanaged and discarded irresponsibly, it contributes to pollution and long-term environmental damage.
Instead of "boycotting" plastic altogether, we should treat it as a classmate—one that has the potential to contribute positively to sustainability, if given the right support.
These "plastic classmates" just need our help to stay on the right path.

Plastic Classifight is an activity within the framework of the project "Reducing plastic waste pollution with local solutions" (Local Solutions for Plastic Pollution - LSPP) funded by the United States Agency for International Development - USAID under the program "Vietnam Local Activities Project for Environmental Health" implemented by GreenHub and partners. The campaign aims to raise awareness and change behavior in the use and habit of classifying plastic waste, reusing plastic for a green lifestyle and sustainable change for the environment.
