On the morning of April 23, the Hòa Vang District Youth Union collaborated with GreenHub and the District Department of Natural Resources and Environment to organize a workshop on regulations for waste classification at source under the Environmental Protection Law 2020 and training on environmental communication skills.

The workshop attracted more than 120 young union members. With the knowledge gained about waste pollution, waste classification, and environmental communication, Hòa Vang District youth members will take the initiative in implementing creative communication activities to spread the spirit of green living and reduce the use of single-use plastic products.

On the same day, April 23, the Hòa Vang District Youth Union continued collaborating with GreenHub to conduct a training session on Food Waste Classification and Treatment in Quá Giáng 1 Village, Hòa Phước Commune, Hòa Vang. The session received technical support from the Community-Based Organic Agriculture Center (COAC), which provided guidance and technology transfer related to food waste composting, and CPART Joint Stock Company, which sponsored some composting equipment.

At the event, representatives of the first 30 households were trained in methods for classifying and treating food waste at home. They also participated in a site visit and received direct guidance at a pilot household. To support the implementation of the model, the LSPP project and CPART provided representatives of these 30 households with instructional materials, microbial composting agents, and compost pit lids.

These activities are part of a series of initiatives led by GreenHub in collaboration with the Hòa Vang District Youth Union and the District Department of Natural Resources and Environment. The goal is to engage the community, implement waste classification models, and promote plastic waste reduction.
