In 2025, severe flooding affected many areas of Dak Lak province (formerly Phu Yen before the administrative merger), significantly impacting people’s livelihoods and exacerbating environmental challenges related to post-disaster waste.

As a long-term partner working closely with local authorities and communities, and in response to Dak Lak province’s call for urgent action to address environmental pollution caused by post-disaster waste,  in 12/2025, GreenHub worked closely with partners and local communities to support and organize an environmental clean - up event after the flood.

📍 Scale: 25 villages across Tuy An Bac, Phu Hoa 1, and Phu Hoa 2 communes
👥 Participants: Over 386 volunteers, including youth, militia, army forces, and local communities

✨ Through strong community collaboration, the activity successfully collected more than 6,306 tons of waste, significantly improving the living environment for over 84,865 residents in Dak Lak. The initiative also laid a foundation for the systematic, long-term, and scalable implementation of community-based waste management solutions.

This activity is part of the project “From Dak Lak to the Region: Scalable Zero Waste Solutions by and for Communities”, funded by GAIA and implemented by GreenHub.
