✨ Have you ever wondered where an item goes after it is thrown away?
Every day, we consume and discard items, often forgetting that many materials can still be collected, reused, or recycled to begin a new life cycle. This oversight contributes to significant waste of natural resources—valuable assets that are not unlimited.
In Vietnam, solid waste is rapidly increasing alongside urbanization and economic growth. However, only a small portion of waste is recycled or reused, while most is still landfilled or treated in ways that place pressure on the environment.
♻️ In response to this reality, over the past 10 years, the Center for Supporting Green Development (GreenHub) has been a pioneer in promoting Zero Waste practices in local communities. This goes beyond recycling—focusing on waste reduction at the source, encouraging sorting and reuse, and developing sustainable waste management models.
🌿 On this journey, GreenHub has collaborated with community groups, informal waste collectors, educational institutions, and businesses through training activities, waste sorting programs, and the implementation of local waste management models. For GreenHub, every change—when shared and sustained—contributes to creating more positive environmental impacts.
On the occasion of Global Recycling Day, GreenHub hopes that each of us will go beyond recycling and start with small changes in how we consume and manage waste every day. A zero waste future does not begin with grand actions, but with the small choices we make daily 🌏
